Happy Thanksgiving!

November 26, 2009

Today is a day to take comfort in the love and support of family and friends.  A day to be especially thankful for those that are doing well in many different ways.

A couple of weeks ago I was fortunate to enjoy the companionship of my fellow guild members at a retreat in Lake Geneva, Wisconsin.  It is a beautiful area conducive to reflection and exploration of the creative juices.  I started piecing a new quilt in pinks and browns.  The browns are a mouthwatering chocolate (with the perfect number of calories for my hips!) which are blending well with the pinks.  Stay tuned as the pattern develops and the testors work with it.

The experience of the retreat was fantastic and I am very thankful that I chose to join a quilt guild.  Meeting and getting to know the other guild members has been a wonderful experience!  I wish everyone a very happy Thanksgiving!

Forever Friends

November 9, 2009

ff bestForever Friends is the first pattern I designed and wrote.  Does anyone remember the Merryvale fabric bundles that were sold at guild meetings?  This quilt was made using those bundles.  The fabrics were already color coordinated and came in 6″ x 18″ pieces which were perfect for the blocks.  I added one yard of a light background plus another yard for the border background and it was done!

I am very pleased to announce that this pattern is available for sale through QuiltWoman at www.quiltwoman.com.
